Our high level of parent, family, and community support is what makes River Charter Schools so unique. We encourage you to find at least one way to get involved in your student’s campus, whether it be serving on a committee, volunteering in the classroom, or chaperoning a field trip. It not only means a lot to your student and teachers, but it also gives you a sense of being part of a larger community and mission. That's a win for everyone!
Here are a few ways to get involved:
Become a volunteer—There are many ways to help, including volunteering in the classroom, providing lunchtime supervision and yard duty, or chaperoning a field trip.
Join your school’s Parent Teacher Committee (PTC)—This group is made up of parents, teachers, and community members who plan activities to bring families together and raise money for the school.
Join your school’s English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC)—This committee advises school officials on English Learner program services.
Join the Parent Advisory Committee (PAC)—Members represent the parent voice in school decision-making. They provide input on key school initiatives, including the Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) and the Comprehensive Site Safety Plan.
