Complaint Procedures

River Charter Schools are committed to maintaining positive, respectful relationships with, and between, staff, parents, and students.

To support that goal, we ask that any complaints to the school or an employee of the school be made in a respectful manner. We will do our best to address complaints in a fair and timely manner and in accordance with school policies, using our dispute resolution process.

Formal complaints between students, staff, parents, volunteers, partner organizations, and Board of Director members (Governing Board) can be made using our Uniform Complaint Procedure (UCP).

Complaints related to sexual harassment will follow the guidelines specified in the River Charter School’s Title IX Policy or the Harassment, Intimidation, Discrimination, and Bullying policy.

California Education Code (EC) Section 47605(d)(4) allows a parent or guardian to submit a complaint to the charter school’s authorizer when a charter school discourages a pupil’s enrollment, requires records before enrollment, or encourages a pupil to disenroll.
