  1. When will the District share the collected input with the public?

All information gathered will be presented to the Board and then compiled, summarized, and incorporated into the Superintendent Position Profile / Description, which will be published here following the Board review.

  1. Who will make the final selection?

By law, the Board is solely responsible for hiring the new Superintendent. The Board will seek, receive, and consider all input from the community, review all applications, interview those candidates determined by the Board, and select the new Superintendent.

  1. How can the public follow this process?

Updates regarding the Superintendent search process will be posted here. The Board will also provide updates at its regularly scheduled board meetings and future press releases.

  1. Can we find out who is applying?

All application materials, including the names of applicants and any other personally identifiable information, are confidential under law.

8. What are the advantages of hiring a search firm for the superintendent search process?

A search firm can provide valuable assistance in recruiting, screening, and conducting interviews for superintendent candidates, saving the district time and resources. Their extensive network and ability to recruit can bring a larger pool of qualified candidates for consideration, enhancing the chances of finding the perfect match for the district.

9. What is a confidential superintendent search?

A confidential superintendent search means that all applicants for the position of superintendent of schools will apply directly to the search consultants. The board will work together with the search firm to identify, from the entire applicant pool, who meets our criteria and who we would like to interview. The board will see ALL applications, but they will first be submitted to the search firm.

10. Why is a confidential search necessary?

This process is followed to attract sitting superintendents and other education professionals who may prefer that their candidacy for the position not be made public. Without confidentiality, there is often a very limited pool of candidates for the position of superintendent. Conducting a confidential search increases the likelihood that the most qualified candidates will apply for the position.
